With over 20 years of experience in executive leadership, he has a strong track record in corporate finance, M&A strategy, investor relations and business transformation.
Axel holds the overall responsibility for the strategic direction, operations, management, and performance of the company. Before becoming CEO in July 2023, Axel served as Serrala’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO), where he was responsible for the company’s financial strategy, accounting, and financial planning. His leadership in this role strengthened Serrala’s financial operations and positioned the company for long-term stability.
Prior to Serrala, he held executive senior leadership positions at Unzer (CEO and CFO; formerly: heidelpay group), a fast-growing, innovative, and modular platform for international payments, PharmaSGP SE (healthcare and pharmaceuticals), and Tom Tailor Holding SE, where he successfully managed the 2010 IPO.
Axel Rebien demonstrated solid experience leading global finance operations, his dynamic leadership, authentic hands-on attitude and visionary mindset, combined with his deep knowledge of the issues and opportunities facing our industry and its customers, are instrumental in driving Serrala’s continued growth and global influence.
Axel holds an MBA in Economics from Gottfried-Wilhelm-Leibniz-University, Hannover, and a Ph.D. in Political Science and Economics from the University of Chemnitz. He is based in Hamburg, Germany.
